Master anything in half the time.

Recall beats re-reading: 61% vs 40% remembered a week later.1

Half the time is our aim, based on learning research. We haven't measured our own users yet. See the basis

Re-reading and highlighting feel like studying. Little of it sticks.2

So a new skill means months of feeling like a beginner.

Getting good shouldn't take a private coach.

Your guide

Being a beginner again is the part you dread.

MasteryOS gives you the method, the plan and an honest record, so you never guess.

  • Built on learning research

Recall and spaced practice, the two techniques a major review rated most useful.2

  • A record that can't flatter you

Mastered means you did it alone, twice, a week apart. Help never counts.

The 3-move loop

Three steps. You never plan a session.

  1. Name the skill

A short game finds your level, so you skip what you know.

  2. Do today's session

Open the reminder, do the attempt, give one quick rating.Do the attempt, then say how sure you were.

  3. Watch the record

It counts as mastered after two solo passes, a week apart.

What changes

Start the thing you've been putting off. Watch yourself get good.

The coach finds your level, hands you each session in three moves and keeps the record, so the beginner phase has a path.

Questions

Is “half the time” real?

It’s our aim, based on research: recall beat re-reading 61% to 40% a week later,1 and spaced practice beat cramming 47% to 37%.4 We haven’t measured MasteryOS users yet, so your record tracks your own speed.

Which AI does it work with?

The ChatGPT or Claude you already use. Your AI does the coaching. MasteryOS keeps the plan, the schedule and the record.

Do I need a coach or a partner?

No. The whole path works solo. A coach, training partner or native speaker can help, and nothing requires one.

Is it safe for physical skills?

MasteryOS gives practice guidance, not supervision. It can’t see your conditions, so you decide when a session is safe. Physical paths include stop rules.

What is the two-sigh start?

Two slow sighs open every session, on by default. A more relaxed nervous system takes in, processes and retains information better.

Research basis

  1. Roediger & Karpicke (2006), Psychological Science, Experiment 2. 180 undergraduates studied short prose passages. A week later, recall practice kept 61% of the ideas versus 40% for re-reading. At five minutes, re-reading led (83% vs. 71%), so the gain is in lasting memory.
  2. Dunlosky, Rawson, Marsh, Nathan & Willingham (2013), Psychological Science in the Public Interest. Reviewed ten study techniques. Highlighting, underlining and re-reading were rated low utility. Practice testing and distributed practice were rated high utility.
  3. Murre & Dros (2015), PLOS ONE. Replication of Ebbinghaus’s forgetting-curve experiment with one subject learning lists of meaningless syllables. The time saved when relearning a list fell from 47% at 20 minutes to 17% at 6 days (and 4% at 31 days, lower than other replications).
  4. Cepeda, Pashler, Vul, Wixted & Rohrer (2006), Psychological Bulletin. Meta-analysis of 254 studies (14,811 participants) of verbal recall. Spaced practice averaged 47.3% correct versus 36.7% for massed practice.

These studies tested memory for text and word lists, mostly in college students. “Half the time” is our aim for mastering a skill. MasteryOS hasn’t measured its own users yet, and your record tracks your own speed.
